Collapsed ankles are the most common issue we see amongst both our athletes and the adult population.
Take a moment to look at the image below and then look down at your own feet to see your own alignment.
When we lose the natural arch in our foot, it can lead to an alignment issue up the body. Being misaligned at the foot/ankle can lead to much larger issues, including foot pain, knee pain, hip pain, or lower back tightness.
For our younger members who are playing sports, a collapsed ankle leads to incorrect joint alignment in sport-specific patterns such as changing directions and running. When we’re misaligned in those patterns, moving at fast speeds we see an increase in non-contact injuries such as ACL and Achilles tears.
